A Great Evening of Community Conversation on Saturday 08/22/2026
The five neighbors running for the Sudden Valley Board had the opportunity to attend a neighborhood block party in Gate 3, where we met with about 25 neighbors and had the chance to answer questions and hear directly from residents in a relaxed, informal setting.
Topper Drive brought together a wonderful and diverse group of people who clearly care deeply about the future of our community. We heard a lot of thoughtful questions, concerns, and hopes for Sudden Valley.
Some of the themes we heard included:
• Concern about rising dues and the possibility that increasing costs could make Sudden Valley unaffordable for some of our neighbors.
• A desire for greater transparency and more opportunities for community input before major decisions are made.
• A hope for more civility and respect in how we discuss issues, even when we disagree.
• Significant concern about the Barn 6 project, including whether the need has been adequately established, whether the project is moving too quickly without sufficient community input, and whether there has been enough financial accountability and scrutiny.
What stood out was how many people want to be engaged in our community. They aren't looking for conflict. They want to understand what is happening, have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect their community, and work toward solutions.
Let us know if want to invite the Fab5 to your neighborhood or block gathering. It doesn't need to be a formal event. A backyard, driveway, community space, or neighborhood get-together is a great opportunity to meet, ask questions, listen, and have a conversation.
Thank you to the Gate 3 neighbors for welcoming us and creating such a positive opportunity for community dialogue. It was a great evening of wonderful pies and great conversations. We look forward to more of this throughout Sudden Valley.
